Opponents of leaf blowers say noise isn't the only pollutant. The fumes from the gas engines foul the air and the machines kick up particulates containing mold, pesticides, dried animal waste and plain old dust

Citizens in my town of Takoma Park, MD are asking the city council to ban gas-powered leaf blowers because they are so noisy and generate so much air pollution. is still a very vocal constituency for an outright ban of leaf blowers. We expect that
representatives of this group will attend the City Council meeting and voice their opinion.
Both the NRB and the NCTF decided not to recommend a total ban on leaf blowers,
because it would have a negative impact on business and because both groups believe

At their November 19 meeting, the councilors voted to allow the use of leaf blowers between March 15 and June 15 and between September 15 and the end of December--what they called the spring and fall "clean-up periods."
